Atlas Operations, Inc., issued a voluntary recall of Vaxitrol in December of 2009. Interestingly, Atlas is responsible for at least 30 other male enhancement products that have been recalled. This is a company that should be treated very warily by the consumer. Vaxitrol was recalled after the FDA discovered that there was an undisclosed chemical included in the formula. Accordingly Vaxitrol should not be purchased or used due to the fact that it falsely claims to be all-natural and without side effects. Apparently, it contains a compound called Sulfoaildenafil, which is chemically similar to Sildenafil, a Drug-only Drug used in erectile dysfunction medications like Viagra. In addition to the fact that it is illegal to sell products that contain Drug medications without FDA approval, it is also dangerous. Sildenafil has documented side effects, which is why it should only be taken under the guidance of a health care professional well versed in the potential interactions it may have with a patient’s health. Additionally, Sildenafil may interact dangerously with medications containing nitrates, such as those used by diabetics and consumers with blood pressure, cholesterol, or heart problems.
